& Other Resources For the Font Fanatic

Adobe Type Library - lust after or buy Adobe Fonts. You can also find out about Adobe 'fontographers' (type designers), view a font glossary, get design tips, and much more!

Veer.com - Best site to preview fonts, since you can type words and see what they'd look like in the chosen typeface. And the beauty of it is that they have fonts from lots of different foundries, so you're not stuck with Adobe-only (or whatever) fonts. Often they have featured free font (how's that for alliteration), so check back from time to time.

1001 Free Fonts - An OK site. You usually get what you pay for. But it doesn't hurt to look.

That's all for now. If you want more websites, go to yahoo.com and type in 'font'. Lazy bum.

Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works, by Erik Spiekermann & E.M. Ginger, is a great book on fonts, very easy for non-font fanatics to read. And it'll give you some font management tips (for those who are having difficulty managing their fonts).
